you just swap two wires around on your ecu plug I've had a look for the pin out diagram PDF but can't seem to find it socks sent me it years ago I'm sure if you asked him he'd send you a copy

I thought the actual plug is different on a Mk1 to the 2 & 3 no?

no just a few diferent pins plugs are same
