Robep82
Im new to the forum but always looked on here as a non member im from hertfordshire i own a starlet gt turbo 4efte for about 7 months now and have driven it for 160 miles ever since owning it and it went bang loads of smoke and lost of power so i had to get recovered after having it looked at by a mechanic he said it was a headgasket which had been going before i brought it so it seems like i had got done over. so that has been done but now its hard to start and when it does it idles very low so i thought i would check compression which the readings are saying about 50psi thats with all plugs out but cold engine im really stuck on what to do as i havent had someone with experience on starlet engines being able to guide me im pretty hands on and know abit many thanks rob
TrisK
Is that 50 psi on all cylinders or just on one?
Robep82
It is on all mate i think 2 & 3 might be slightly more but only like 10psi

5e colin
No you have to align the crank pulley first to 0 on the plastic cover below Then check the cam cog you have to see the stamped dot true the 4e hole on the cam cog, Them take rockercover off to check the timing on the inner cogs Edited October 16, 2016 by 5e colin
