Harrychambers21
Compression results for a forged engine with 1.2 head gasket? Edited November 21, 2016 by Harrychambers21
StuDoc 72
You tell us your results and we will tell you if they are ok. We dont know how much has been skimmed off your head regardless of HG thickness.
Harrychambers21
Well it's a new engine and I ran up changed the oil and got from number one on. 126 140 138
richardc9052
140 is ok for a fresh built low comp engine. But cylinder 1 may be an issue. Why where you doing a compression test? Any reason? If not it may just be that the rings in that cylinder need a little more time and some load.
Harrychambers21
Was just curious really. I no the rings may need a bit of time but the guy said he had an issue with the valve guides so I was wondering maybe that was cylinder one!? Hopefully nothing as it cost a lot! fiddlersport
Leak down test will be better for diagnosing this issue
triple j
That could very well be valve guides on cylinder 1, have u any smoke when its first started.
Harrychambers21
Did another one tonight just to confirm and with warm engine and throttle open I got 135 150 150 135 so seems to be a bit better. Think once it's all run in should be okay, anyone had dealings with race tech?
TD04GT
Usually a difference of 15psi / 1bar between cylinders indicates a problem in that cylinder, your second test shows that in 1 & 4. Do a leak down test on it and see if it changes the results
