actual forged piston size?

i know forged pistons for our engines are advertised in 74.0mm/74.5mm/75.0mm sizes

my question - is the advertised size the actual size of the pistons? or is it actually a little smaller and more like the stock size 73.90mm - 73.93mm?

you get a spec sheet with actual size to bore to for a given set of pistons diferent brands have diferent sizes

ok, let's say a popular brand like wossner, what is the actual size of a 74mm or 74.5mm wossner piston? seems a lot of members use this piston in their builds

and what kind of bore clearance is recommended on the spec sheet that colin mentioned?

i was doing some research and its just seemed a bit weird that in some older posts that some just appeared to hone the block and insert the forged pistons---well for standard size 74mm....as opposed to going the machine shop route and getting a proper rebore to specs

74mm waste of time be too much piston slap

74.5 and bore the block .5 much better
