starletezy Posted July 4, 2017 Posted July 4, 2017 Hello guys, Quick one there's two types of ct9 turbos i have seen, one with Toyota written on the top and one with Toyota ct9 written on top is there any difference between the two? Regards Tez Quote
maerijn Posted July 4, 2017 Posted July 4, 2017 They are the CT9A and CT9B and the outer parts such as compressor wheels, housings and turbine are not interchangeableThe one that says Toyota CT9 is A (EP82) and the one that says Toyota is B (EP91)See halfway down this page:http://starlet-forum.nl/index.php?topic=22584.150 Quote
starletezy Posted July 5, 2017 Author Posted July 5, 2017 Cheers mate make sense to me now so basically the same turbos, will a Toyota lucida turbo fit a starlet? i believe there also the ct9 Quote
Starlet__SR Posted July 5, 2017 Posted July 5, 2017 Possibly. There's different variations of the CT9. I'm sure there's a catalogue on the net with the different specs. The bearing cartridge will be the same. But the hot and cold sides will vary. Quote
maerijn Posted July 5, 2017 Posted July 5, 2017 (edited) Looking at images from google it seems the compressor housing is in a different rotation, the actuator sits in a different spot and the exhaust manifold seems to have a different bolt pattern. However some parts can be used: http://www.toyotagtturbo.com/forums/showthread.php?104393-Rotating-CT9-housing @Starlet__SR theres difference in the bearing cartridges aswell, as I could not fit a B compressor wheel housing on an A cartridge and vice versa Edited July 5, 2017 by maerijn Quote
