Hey guys,

thought i'd poke my head in and say hello. i'm very interested in getting a Glanza But..... i know nothing about them.

the first time i saw one was at japfest this year when there was a white one absolutely flying round castle coombe!

i currently own a facelift Mitsubishi FTO Version R (manual) fitted with 18's and a huge brembo brake kit. (tracked at japfest this year) i am an active member of the FTOOC.ORG too and have been to a couple of rolling roads.

i have never owned a turbo'd car and fancy one. and i want something cheaper to run the the FTO. i have read through the "what to look for when buying thread" but what i really need to know is stuff like:

Insurance costs (i'm 27, full no claims. costs £550 for the FTO through Sky at the moment)

specialists for servicing etc (usually use Eurospec in surrey are they known on here?)

good suppliers for mods

different models (base upwards)

and anything else that you lot might think is needed.

oh, i'm from Watford, Herts by the way.

cheers people.

Dave. :D

hey buddy welcome to the club!

I'm from Hatfield so you are real close to me, i own a glanza nd they are awesome little cars gt are nice but glanza's are better lol :D

in answer to some of your questions you own a jap car so insurance will be easy especially through sky and with your no claims etc.

where you get your car serviced would be fine for a glanza, or gt.

suppliers wise have a look on here as there are a fair few suppliers on the forum also have a look over on toyotagtturbo.com as they also have a good few there as well.

glanzas were only made between 96-99 so the models are all the same the only difference was body styling. personally i prefer the 98 upwards styling but i own a 96 :D

thanks for the responses,

ah right ok, i assumed that GT's and Glanzas were the same thing? shows how much i know. i'd like a later one. and i think i want a Glanza but i'm a bit confused. what sort of money would i be looking at for a 98/99 glanza pretty much standard? also what sort of figures would i be looking at on a Dyno?

and i should probably ask... whats the fuel economy like?

thanks again for the help. keep it coming. :D

prob taliking 4500-5500 for a good late model

and ud prob get bout 130 on the dyno but they were only 133bhp new

petrol wise because of this farkin fuel shite prob bout 250-300miles per £40 depending on driving style

si is right ^^^^^ but you can get some nice good condition 96/97 glanza's for around 3500-4000 but there are so many 96's about i would want to save for a 98 just to be different plus they hold there price well if it ever came to selling again.

gt's are the older models they share exactly the same engine as the glanza but have different shapes.

Welcome to the Club :D

Late spec ones (98 on) look nicer unless you get a 96 or 97 with the full lip kit which looks just as nice :D
