Insuring a car to drive home

i am buying a car relatively soon, however i hav a problem.

i do not want to insure the car as i will only be driving it home and then hopefully selling it quickly, with maybe a few trips in between.

now is it legal to drive the car with the fully comp insurance on my starlet alone? or must the other car have its own isurance?m

if your policy states you can drive other cars third party only then yes... although be wary cause some state that the car must not belong to you, and be insured by someone

there is specialist companies that deal with short term insurance policies, look them up on google

just checked your profile... your 19... you wont have the option of either of the above so i think you will have to take out a policy on the car

You could probably get temporary cover on it

As above, you arent old enough to cover it with comp insurance.

Although your insurers might let you insure it as a 2nd car. You really need to call them up and ask them.

you gonna only drive another car on third party...if you have full comp insurance in the first place...and the car your wanting to drive also has to have insurance..(you also have to be older, that has already been pointed out)

@ Rob i only drive my starlet on tpft... and that costs me shit loads, in two years ive spent twice the worth of the car ffs.

its so annoying that young men drive like twats and crash all the time..therefore my bloody premium is stupidly high. grrrr

i mean im 19 i will have 2yrs ncb in a tiny 1.3 n/a and im goin to be looking at 850 still for tpft!!!

in response to your high tpft quote... i had a heart attack the other day when norwich union quoted me 500 quid for comprehensive, with business use and alloys declared. my renewal for tpft for 700 quid. no brainer.

Its weird how it works out for some people. Everyone gets different quotes, even if they are the same age and everything.

Just have to shop around.

i dont know yet, will kno if ill be gettint eh other car by the end of the week so ill sort it then. or may just get one of my parents to help me out...cheaper
