Opinions on spring choice.

Recommended Posts

Well the time has come to start paying attention the the handling of my glanza and i have some spare money burning a hole in my pocket :( , so im goin to buy some lowering springs :( but there are so many to choose from and i dont know where to start, i will be keeping the standard shocks on there which im a bit worried about messing up with lower springs on :( . The main factors im loking for are:

1. some improvment in the handling is the main one :D

2. Want good looks but dont want to go crazy low, to try and save my shocks from going pop and my wheels hitting the inner arch.

3. dont want them too stiff as i like having a reasonably smooth ride as the roads are shite around cardiff :p

by the way im running 15" wheels, so any opinions on spring would be much appreciated ;) cheers,

STARLYBRUSIER :D .

Do you rekon a 40mm drop will give my standard shocks a hard time? as i dont really want to be replacing them if they go pop :( you rekon the teins will give a drop you can clearly notice? as i had these in my head for a good while but i scared that the car will still look pretty high :( .

I think the Teins give a rubbish drop considering they are meant to be nearly 60mm, they are 30mm at the most!!!

you think 30mm will make my car look alot lower? as i want it to look nice and low but i dont want to have problems with my standard shocks, and i think the teins are probly the best to avoid problems, what you think?

They are far from rubbish. The quoted lowering distance is considerably optimistic but if you want low but not too low these are ideal. I love them as they make the car handle nicely and they aren't crashy and bangy. And as much as i would want my car lowered, my area is littered with speed bumps. Come to think of it you are surrounded by speed bumps Sparky. I don't know how you cope with D2's.

@ firsttoymota - If they are a good price buy them. I've seen his car and it hugs the ground.

@ Sparky - Yeah i know the figures they quote are completely wrong but they are good springs. They give a nice firm ride but leave some comfort as well :(.
