4efte_ryan Posted November 2, 2008 Posted November 2, 2008 right guys ive got the chance to buy a 93 black gt.. basically its been sitting at my work for about a year now and the customer has had enough of it and moved on and bought a new car, ive had my eye on this for a while but bought my glanza because i never had the chance to the gt till now.. right it basically needs a new engine as the block is cracked and the head is warped also will need disks and pads all round as been sitting around... its got a few mods i notced its got a piggybank fuel computer black 14inch einkei wheels and various other bits.. i wanna now how much it is worth roughly and also is is it worth putting back on the road or just breaking up??? the customer has offered me a swap to fit a clutch in his 1.8turbo golf which is basically gonna cost me around £130 plus a bit of time fot the gtcheers ryan Quote
ste91 Posted November 2, 2008 Posted November 2, 2008 Not really a useful reply but a possibly good idea:If it needs a new engine and you've got the money for it you could always buy the 5EFTE that Bourkey is selling... Quote
4efte_ryan Posted November 2, 2008 Author Posted November 2, 2008 to be honest mate i think that i would rather stick to a 4efte keep it simple.. but thanks for the idea Quote
Si@Fiske Posted November 2, 2008 Posted November 2, 2008 give me his no.. il have it! but it will cost you £400 upwards for an engine.. then fitting.. but i guess you can do that yourself?!just what i need or il buy the whole thing off you!!DIBS ;) Quote
4efte_ryan Posted November 2, 2008 Author Posted November 2, 2008 yea i was thinking about just breaking it.. as i no that 4efte engines are a lot of money i will have to wait and see.. i would probs gey more money back if i broke it Quote
4efte_ryan Posted November 2, 2008 Author Posted November 2, 2008 but if i did fit an engine in it all im gonna do is put it on the track, got no intentions for road use Quote
paulgtt Posted November 2, 2008 Posted November 2, 2008 If thats the case then find a front ended MR2 turbo and lob a 3sgte lump into it Quote
Si@Fiske Posted November 3, 2008 Posted November 3, 2008 ^^ erm why?!track use = light weight!not only that you will understeer into the gravel.. through the tire wall.. then the grandstand.. you get the idea...starlet chasis is designed for a 1300.. keep it that way! Quote
Glanza-Love Posted November 3, 2008 Posted November 3, 2008 Ryan dude... you change that clutch and what ill do is ill buy the full car off you for £250 if you like? Quote
minxy Posted November 3, 2008 Posted November 3, 2008 I wouldn't bother breaking & Scrapping it as money ain't brilliant for it at the moment and also its hard to get rid of all the parts - so i've found out! Quote
4efte_ryan Posted November 3, 2008 Author Posted November 3, 2008 done the clutch so now got the car... still aint sure what to do thou.. Quote
4efte_ryan Posted November 3, 2008 Author Posted November 3, 2008 yea i will try and get some pics up tomorrow.. Quote
paulgtt Posted November 3, 2008 Posted November 3, 2008 ^^ erm why?!track use = light weight!not only that you will understeer into the gravel.. through the tire wall.. then the grandstand.. you get the idea...Take your point, But it would be fun though..... before you understeer into the gravel, go through the tire wall and headbutt the grandstand!! 4efte_ryan Posted November 4, 2008 Author Posted November 4, 2008 rite ive decided that im gonna keep the gt and put an engine in the as its too good to break up (sorry glanza love)anyways i was thinkin about putting a 4EFE in it instaed of a 4EFTE in.. i no you are all thinkin im mad but my little brother is learning to drive atm and the gt would be ideal (obviously i would change the log book for insurance purposes).. if i did put the 4EFE in it instead would all i need to change is the wiring loom??? as there is a whole starlet with a 4EFE in it at my local scrappy?? as im sur you guys will no as im sure uve done this conversion before...any info will be a helpcheers ryan Quote
Si@Fiske Posted November 6, 2008 Posted November 6, 2008 yeh it will all need to be changed... at the end of the day the car will come up as an import and a 17yr old wont get insurance.. and if you say youve done an engine swap they will be all funny even if it is a down grade.. in there eyes youve done a swap.. thats all they care about.. its a nice idea but i dont think it will work ( insurnace wise ) Quote
ecksjay Posted November 6, 2008 Posted November 6, 2008 i'd have it off you mate, pm me if you fancy selling it, let me know Quote
RichyGT Posted November 6, 2008 Posted November 6, 2008 Or pm me if you decide to sell mate, cant afford a gt at the minute but would like to have the car so i can put the engine in myself when funds allow. I miss my old one Rich Quote
