Dastek Power Run - Lunch - Power Down @ Crail Thrash - Sat 8th July

Thought I would start a fresh as this is now guarenteed/definite. You just need to put your name down, turn up, pay, talk/banter then if your up for it we can go grab a bit of lunch/late breakfast and for those of us who are for it convoy up to the Crail thrash. There was a request that this be for Jap cars only, which I dont have a prob with. Anyone objecting please say so. Also I will copy/paste this to another local forum I use but will state for Jap Cars only.

We need definite names/cars down ASAP. No tooshing about.

So the day would go a bit like this:

Dastek - 8.30/9am start (15+ cars are run) - Please note you will get a power run with a whp/torque reading printed out on laminated paper.

Lunch - Whenever we done/ready we go to McDonalds/Beefeater

Crail Thrash - 4pm - 11pm (If you want)

Cost of Dastek is £35 for 15-20 cars or £30 for 21+ cars.

Cost of Crail is £7 entry and £15 for thrash time.

This gives you plenty notice to save up your pennies, do mods which you want to do etc etc..

Bit about the Crail Thrash and new timing they have:

The Crail Thrash takes place regularly throughout the year, twice monthly on Sundays. As Scotland's 1/4 mile Drag Strip, it has become hugely popular, primarily because anyone can learn how to do it. All you require is a UK driving licence, a vehicle, and that's it.  We have a new state of the art system, with full Christmas Trees (countdown start lights), computer and staging gear specially imported from USA from drag timing specialists Portatree (www.portatree.com), which is directly connected to the website using Channel 6 Multimedia's (www.ch-6.co.uk) online results system.  It's easy! Learn how to do it when you sign on at the start office. Like thousands of regular visitors, once you've tried it you'll be hooked.  Other activities include a static show area, for exhibiting your pride and joy, as well as incredible ICE (In Car Entertainment) installs, unbelievable engine and body mods,club and trade stands.  Try your hand at the quad bike course or even the Drifting Ring,where you can learn the art of drifting your car round our specially prepared skid pan.  We look forward to welcoming you to Scotland's Drag Strip and Premier Modded Car Show. Just phoned Dastek about the following quote below which was presented on TOC.

For health a saftey reasons, Dastek no longer allow you to view your car on the rolling road.. so don't be dissapointed when you have to wait in the office or outside.. if your lucky, the might open the roller shutter door so you can view from a short distance from outside.

Basically the rules/regs are that the person's car which is on teh roller at the given time can stand by the dyno, sit in the car & talk to Paul. All other member's have to be behind a grey area which has been markered on the ground. Unknown as to how far this is from the rollers but I wouldnt imagine that far given the size of the place. If anyone wants phots/videos then they can set them up on tripods but im guessing were all up technology and our cams have decent enough zooms?

Anyways thats how it stands. If you feel this isn't fair and you dont wish to participate let me know and I will remove your name.

But as for the day thats it all booked for the Sat 8th July.

You dont need to pay deposits but if you wish then Im sure that can be accomodated. You haev plenty time to make mods, do services, run in, set up you car so hopefully no-one backs out.

mine is getting rolling roaded next sat mate so no point in putting it on again, i fear for its life :lol:

I'll come along and watch if i'm not working though for defo. only 15 mins from me! (assuming its dalgety bay your going to yeah?)

thanx for the reply mate,ill be going then,will be a good day,ill be staying in montrose near aberdeen on the friday night so will be travelling down,cuz the 1st boat off the island is 8.20,...who is going from the aberdeen area? ..cheers

Yeah he's got quite a bit of business out of the starlet boys recently.

Stuarts GT4 is the ex-fensport 600bhp GT4 by the way. But he's decided to scrap the T88 as is was hugely laggy and try a Garrett GT35 setup. He hopes to be run in for then but has no ideas what it'll be putting out.
