BenV
right to say im slightly miffed off now would be an understatment. recently i bought a cam cover which i was going to get plated in my work place. i was told when buying the cover it was off a gt and the breather was in a differnet place but that it would be safe to run on a fte. i was going to take it to be plated today and thought id double check before it goes and compared the breather pipe sizes on my current one and the new one. and guess what they are differnt! here are some pic's of the cover, what engine is it off?could sombody please post up a pic of the correct cover so i can have a comparison.ben
ste91
Looks like it's from a 4EFE.
montanajr
Its off a 4EFE. The PCV valve should be the same asfaik. So its just a matter of different positioning for the breather. No biggy! Heres a FTE cam cover:
BenV
before i got one i asked rick bout running it with an n/a cover and he said it would only be ok as a temp messure because of the different size breather it would create more pressure in the case
Glanza_cl
i have a gt rocker cover on mine there is not difference to the ep91:and i think i was told that running a 4efe rocker cover on my 4efte could be dangerouse and there would be a presure build up in the head? Glanza_cl
just sell it on or put up a add for a swop for FTE cover
Bourkey
So is it bad to run a 4EFE cam cover as that is what im doing. I've not had any problems with it. Bourkey
Glanza_cl
from what i understand as there is a much higher pressure being produced in the head the smaller diamter breather in the 4EFE cant get rid of enough, which i guess could lead to bad thingsi dont no too much so someone else might be able to explain more. BenV
i think it is bud, i guess the only way to find out would be to ask rick again
Bourkey
Hmmmmmmm. I may have to get a different one. Mark also has a 4EFE one as well with no problems.Bourkey
