Neal GT
Hi all, just wondering if anyone knew what brakes these's where, soz about the pics not very clear, cause i got them off a member on here saying they where celica st185 brakes but when i was looking at getting new discs from them, the st185 messuserments where ruff 10mm bigger then the ones i got, so im thinking they might be Toyota Mr2 brake kit but was seeing if anyone on here knew, if they are the mr2 brakes would the cleica st185 disc's fit,not sure if this will help but the numbers i can see on the calipers are- AISIN 38T25,Many Thanks Neal
Bildo
I did a Google search on the numbers mate, I got a site in Swedish (or similar) and it said Toyota Carina 1993 in the title.
StarletRick
they look like the levin twinpots. the st brakes are big single pots. the levin twinpots use the levin discs, with spacers behind them. and you have to get the discs reground smaller. a bit of work to do. but worth it. talk to SiCaln about it. hes had the work done on his car. garbla900
aye there levin discs there is someone on here that has done the convertion serch on here for twin pot calipeers and it should come up
Philm
the guy selling them may have just got something mixed up, they could well be celica brakes just not st185 single pot ones!the levin twin pots are very similar to the celica st165 twin pots, id guess thats what they could well be.still a superb brake upgrade over standard thats what i run on my motor, with a slightly different disc setup(no spacers)only problem/issue is that uprated pads are hard to come by for them!give me two secs and i fire up a few links to the few places i could find that offer upgraded pads(bar fensport(who have shortages themselves)Phil
Philm
http://www.alltrac.net/tuning/brake.htmlhalf way down you will see the st165 brakes discussed and the pads options, the only link i bothered following was that of potterfield racing pads, and they seem keenly priced.hope that helps.Phil
