what mods have you carried out already?

braidedlines can supply a tdo4l kit for your 82 but you'll need the host of other mods suppied in the kit.

alternatively ask some of the guys on toyotagtturbo.com

Rich.

hi buddy. in order to change the turbo you would also need to factor in a different manifold for the turbo to mount on..

if your after driveability then plump for a a tdo4 16g. this unit can make up to 250bhp with all the other mods needed to do it.

if your after all out power for say dragging then gun for a bigger tdo5 18g this unit is capable of runin 320+.

theoreticaly any size of charger could but its silly talking about that.

dont know too much about the garet turboes but as they are ballbearing spool up should be sligthly quicker.

you canot realy just change a turbo by itself.

once you uprate one part you find weaknesses on other parts of the car.

so you should budget to do all the essentials at once..

to get the most out of an uprated turbo you would also need to uprate the injectors, fual pump, manifold and do somethin with the fual supply.

i have also missed a few more bits and bobs.. but you get the jist.

after doin all this tho you would be left with a totaly different engine power wise

Just dont go sticking a BIG old turbo that runs 10000000 bhp and leave the rest standard! Otherwise you could be in for a harsh suprise.

Uprated Pistons/Rings

Uprated Con Cods

Uprated Crank

then you got the fuel to play around with and many other nick nacks!
