Dave L-W
Whats needed for a td04 conversion and can the standard head gasket and internals be used?
Steve GT
haha td04's serious power boost increase from the ct9. they say a hybrid running 1.3 bar boost is probably the limit for the standard internals. a td04 has the capability to run much higher boost levels than the ct9 or hybrids so its strongly reccomended to forge the engine first or run the td06 at low levels of boost id say mate if not your engines going to go bang
RobSR
Upto 1bar on a td04l that will make ~220bhp mapped.. I would drop it down to .85 bar if going with a hybrid td04 (like the Wepr one that most people go with) as it'll make roughly the same power at less boost.Standard HG will be fine
Steve GT
on forged internals cant a tdo4 go up to 28 psi someone once told me?is that true 2 bar on a td04?
ibz
i think the max on td04 is around 1.4 , 1.5 bar
RobSR
1.4 bar really but you can run upto 1.6 but it's probably out of it's effciency range.. On a mates starlet there was about a couple of bhp difference between the 2 boost levels but about a 20ftlb jump in torque..
Tobiah
haha td04's serious power boost increase from the ct9. they say a hybrid running 1.3 bar boost is probably the limit for the standard internals. a td04 has the capability to run much higher boost levels than the ct9 or hybrids so its strongly reccomended to forge the engine first or run the td06 at low levels of boost id say mate if not your engines going to go bangwhy would he go for td06 over td04 if he wants less power? Td06 is good for over 300bhp but will take longer to spool than td04? ( maybe you meant td04)td04 at 1 bar should be fine but one day (could be long time) it will go...Then you'll want to go forged
Driver
mines on a td04 on 1.2 bar on daily on stock internals and so far so good (been like that for few month)although im saving for WHEN it pops, not if it pops but when it pops lol then its 1.8 bar
Russleh
for a moment i thought you said you were running 1.8 bar on stock internals
