mcleod
yeah does clay come after a wash but before polish and wax?
Bildo
Wash > Clay > Polish > Wax, trust me.Also, NXT etc are good, but cannot even begin to compete with the durability of Colinite.I bet NXT will last about 6 weeks and 2-3 layers of Colinite will last about 4-6 months if washed frequently with not much shampoo. japcarmaniac
anybody used the nielsons range of products?
StarletRick
you have to wash it after you clay it too. just so you know
Russleh
so its WASH > CLAY > WASH > POLISH > WAX then ?
StarletRick
thats pretty much it. the lubricant you use when claying dries all the dirt and filth onto the car. so it needs a clean.the other day we did this. wash>clay>wash>cut>polish>wash>glaze>sealant>wax>qdtook 2 days. but its worth it. Russleh
god so not only do i have to pray for good weather while i wash. i have to hope it doesnt rain for 2 whole days. i wanna do it but not when its gettin to winter.
StarletRick
if you give it a quick clean and detail, itll take you a few hours. it only took us that long as we machine polished it with a few different grades of polish. hand polishing is faster but the finish isnt as good. youll need probs 3-4 hours of good weather though. Smithy_dub
Wash..Clay..Rinse..Dry..Polish..Wax..www.cleanyourcar.co.uk is the best site ive found for buying stuff.
Bildo
If you're doing it in the sun or similar a rinse won't be enough to get rid of all the crap left on from the claying. That's why I suggest to do a wash afterwards.
Smithy_dub
That's what i kinda meant, you shouldn't really wash or detail in direct sun anyway.. but i mean, the first wash should be a thorough one.. wheel wash first, degrease the lower body if nessessary, snow foam, jet wash, 2 bucket wash with lambswool mitt...After the claying you should just need a quick once over with a bit of shampoo just to wash the water streaks off..
