Dry Braking System!

when i got the car...the lad had already fitted the glanza rear axle to accomodate for the discs...problem is though hees drained the system in doing it (numpty!!). i presume there is still some fluid in the system...due to the front brakes havnt been tampered with, and im hoping that the master cylinder is still fine...but how should i go about in re-filling the system?? I've done brake bleeding plenty of times before but I've never came across a dry system :S

Isn't it just a case off filling it up, bleeding the system then topping up if need be?

ahh really!! ok cool!! i thought that i might need to prime the master cylinder or something along those lines!!

yea that sounds bout right, just top up and pump the pedal a few times before bleeding, so you get some oil in the lines

dont have to prime anything, just fill it up and proceed as normal.

giving the calipers a good thump with a hammer helps once its full. helps get air bubbles moving.

right this is my field first of all undo the rear bleed nipples and fill the master to the brim

this is called gravety bleed you may need to tap the flexy hoses to help the fluid through

this should stop getting an air lock in the system

once your at this stage its just a case of bleeding as normal starting with

the ferthest away from the master cylinder and doing one corner at a time

this job would be alot easier with a preasure bleeder though.

there is nothing to prime
