silverglanza Posted October 22, 2009 Posted October 22, 2009 hi guys are throttle bodys worth a go this guy says 8bhp gains this ture? cheers :harhar: Quote
DavidAshton Posted October 22, 2009 Posted October 22, 2009 If you have a glanza as your user name sugests? and if your on about individual throttle bodies? You need to learn how a turbo works. Quote
Russleh Posted October 22, 2009 Posted October 22, 2009 lol i imagined it once. bout as far as it got. throttle bodies go straight from intake to the air so there will be 4 yes an considering you need to connect the turbo up to the intake and now you have 4 , what do you get, intake manifold :harhar: Quote
silverglanza Posted October 22, 2009 Author Posted October 22, 2009 greaful for replys what you mean can you exsplain ? Quote
Russleh Posted October 23, 2009 Posted October 23, 2009 well im no expert so someone will prob correct me at some point :harhar: but turbos work by usin the exhaust gasses to spin the turbin which is connected to the compressor which sucks in air and forces it into your engine , hence forced induction, if you think about throttle bodies itsd basically a signle butterfly per intake on your block. you would need to connect all of these to the turbo so that the turbo is feeding them alll and the end result would just be a complicated version of what you already have. ( i think ) lol Quote

StarletRick Posted October 23, 2009 Posted October 23, 2009 you can run ITB's on turbo setups, its just quite a bit of outlay moneywise. it wouldnt really be worth it on a glanza though to be honest. the pulsar GTiR has throttle bodies as stock, for example. Quote

You need to learn how a turbo works.maybe you should do more research into them i didnt see anything on his first post of asking for individual ones you can get them from tm developments but these are not much use unless you are running bigger power i cant see a 8bhp gain unless like i said big power and possibly a custom intake manilink for themhttp://www.tm-developments.com/index.php?m...1c553141f5753f0 Quote
Russleh Posted October 23, 2009 Posted October 23, 2009 i could see a car having alot of gain with a throttle body as apposed to a car without one :harhar: question of my own though. what difference would it make having a butterfly for each intake as apposed to a big one. opening on the mani wont be any different so not really gonna take in any more air from what i know.
