wssoR Posted November 4, 2009 Posted November 4, 2009 Could some one explain to me how i adjust the tick over speed of my engine whilst i am in neutralCheersRoss Quote
Kennedy Posted November 4, 2009 Posted November 4, 2009 On the top right of the inlet mani there is a little black circle piece of rubber.Take that out and with a flat head scredriver turn the screw..do it once the engine is up to temp though..(Thats on a Glanza, not sure what car you have though)There another way to do it aswell but i cant think what it is lol Quote
Glanza-Love Posted November 4, 2009 Posted November 4, 2009 thats a pretty stupid idea ^Whats wrong with the car that you want to alter the idle?It could be something so small? check your dizzy cap & rotor arm see there all good.timing on your idle can be do with that if it is then replace both..or loosen the bolts of the dizzy ever so lightly tap it down a touch if it lowers the revs then you need to tap it up a touch until your happy.. then tighten it back up.. just make sure the cars heated. wssoR Posted November 4, 2009 Author Posted November 4, 2009 well the car ticks over at about 750 which im no expert but seems a bit low to me, anyway when im waiting in traffic the revs drop suddenly some times and the car nearly stallsCheers Quote
Kennedy Posted November 4, 2009 Posted November 4, 2009 ^^did that to me turned that bolt i mentioned ever so slightly and its up to about 800-850 on idle..never caused and issues.Even think someone on here told me that. Quote
wssoR Posted November 4, 2009 Author Posted November 4, 2009 mines not a glanza though, its a n/a, would it still be the same?Cheers Quote
micky boy Posted November 4, 2009 Posted November 4, 2009 That,s about right mate as for the rev,s going down in traffic the fan will be kicking in and you will get a bit of power loss starlet,s are bad for earthing if you get a earthing kit it should help it Quote
Glanza-Love Posted November 4, 2009 Posted November 4, 2009 realy ideal would be 900. you making sure you have petrol i know that sounds dumb.does it sound like its running on 3 cylinders when its dipping?possibly dizzy.. usualy idle funny is on coils or airflow Quote

Sparky Posted November 4, 2009 Posted November 4, 2009 Adjust the idle screw a touch dont touch the dizzy thats adjusting the ignition timing as Boostjunkie said!!! Quote
Russleh Posted November 4, 2009 Posted November 4, 2009 mine idles at 750 and occasionally will drop. mostly after i lift off throttle to idle though. drops down then back to 750. maybe same thing ? Quote
