Mart
My mate has a Red Rx-7 with a Carbon hood... Can you re-spray a Carbon Hood to match the body color or would it just look bloody crap + defeat the purpose...Cheers Mart...
ecksjay
it does sorta defeat the purpose, although they are very light if they're true full carbon hoods, which is a good reason for getting one, although you are able to paint it no problems though if needs be. Mart
Cheers bud. Da hood is feirce light alright but he just thinks it looks kinda wrong with his whole car being a Brightish Red and then this Carbon Hood...
Sparky
I wouldnt paint a cf hood but depending on the style you go for it could look pretty cool with the 2 sides painted and the middle letf cf if you get me!!I rekon a carbon hood on a red rex would look pretty awesome with black wheels

Sparky
Well if your getting a front mount get a reverse scoop glanza bonnet but you would need to modify it to fit the lights. easy enough though

cerberus
i dont know if anyone here went to modified madness show at the motor museum the outher week but their was a yellow rx7 with a cf bonnet and he had gotten it sprayed over with lacker and unfortunatly it had all cracked and looked a bit rubbishy realy. this is due to the carbon flexing under the pressure of air wene going down the motorway for example so ide say deffibatly not to spray it for that reason and the fact that carbon should be made to be seen if you want a light bonnet to spray get a fibreglass one (a boat building companey will be able to use your original bonnet as a template and they do a bloody good job my mate has fibre glass doors, hood, wings and boot on his 200sx but he does have to get the hood and wings resprayed every 6 mounths because of the paint cracking. Guest Enzo
i have seen thin layers of paint put over carbon hoods to tint abit, you can also buy carbon hoods with the weave in a different colour
lobotomy
Think the coloured ones are actually kevlar (same diff but all the coloured ones I've seen have stated kevlar on them not CF )Think it's just an aluminum/aluminium affair (damn yanks)
