External wastegate = seperate from the turbo, comes directly off the manifold and is much better at controlling boost than an internal wastegate, however they are usually more expensive. TBDevelopments Posted January 8, 2010 Share Posted January 8, 2010 externals are only better at controlling boost because they are normally bigger. So if you have both a 35mm wastegate opening it won't matter if its internal or external wastegate.
