Changing The Ignition Barrell?

I've been up my mates house today changing the locks on his GT, the door ones were a piece of piss but we're stumped with the ignition barrell, it's got stupid "bolts" that are just round at the top, you can't get a spanner or screwdriver over it and by looking at it the only way to get them out is to drill them?

Or I've been told use a hacksaw and cut a cross in it so you can get a screwdriver in there?

Anyone got any ideas? I don't think he can really afford going to Toyota to have it done.

Well I'm not actually there now but my mate says he's just took the inside parts out of the chamber thing and swapped the barrells rather than the whole chamber.
