chriswoodfto
hey, right, theres a strange noise coming from somewere, not sure wer tho, it makes it worse when setting off from a stand still. when on full lock and pulling away. but it sounds as if its inside the car in the footwell somewere, or as close to the back of the engine bay as you can get, (if it was in the bay,)it sounds like plastic squeeking rather than letal. i had springs put on last week, and an anti lift kit. i had the tracking re checked today as the steering wheel was just off centre. any ideas? im pretty sure im being paranoid., lol. jobo
bet its your drinks holder . mine does that its great it will be something daft that you would never think of in a million years. just check the suspension bush's or the anti lift kit ones, could be your cause
chriswoodfto
i just sat on the wings and jumped up and down and theres a distinctive squeek coming from the suspension, i thort it was th drinks holder as it sounds as if its coming from that. its in the garage tomorow to try find my air leak so will take them out and see if he can work it out. any other ideas would be greatly appreciated tho. chriswoodfto
right its been in my mates garage all day, he didnt get a massive amount of time to look at it, but the squeek i may have mis diagnosed, its more like a creek noise.lol. just sat in it with the handbrake pulled right on, with the clutch and acc' hit biting point so the back squats down and it makes the noise when hitting biting point, let off tried again and same thing... my mechanic said that the clutch is just starting to slip when at highest rpm, so my question is could this noise be connected to the clutch in some way? if i could try pin point were its coming from id say, between the handbrake and centre consol. not sure wether inside or out. plz help because its doing my fukin head in. p.s anyone got a uprated clutch for sale? chriswoodfto
just read on a mg website (no surprise there then) lol. hes describing the same sorta thing as me, hes been told that its the clutch release arm, or the bit that attachs to the back of the clutch pedal in car. it solunds like a nosie from the drivers footwell and the area i described before. anup67
ive got the exact same thing on my n/a , and when i pull of it sort of 'judders' before it pulls of and the only way i can over come it is giving more gas. Its not the clutch because i JUST had a new clutch put it, and it was there before and still there.......hope it helps cause its also driving me nuts! :|
chriswoodfto
its not really a judder to be honest mate, it runs smooth, theres just a creek noise, like when u step on a floorboard. ive been reading shit on the net for ages, found a few posts from toyota owners and a couple of strarlet owners, its all pointing to this clutch release arm, or bearing that arnt lubed up any more. or the mech behind the pedals, (hope its the 2nd choice) ill check out the pedals first, then trace the cable back, if it aint that, im juts gona get the clutch done and get him to lube up the release arm. aparently form what other guys were saying you can get to the arm and relube it fairly easy. anup67
try that before getting a whole new clutch cause thats expensive

5T4R7ET N/A
i think i might know what is could be, had it on my n/a. the clutch slave cylinder arm join has a rubber housing to protect from moisture ect.every time you push the clutch down, it will make the noise. the rubber has a bit of a flap. lift it and grease it up. you really have to get it between the metal wire at the joint behind the rubber, otherwise the back contact will remain. took me a while to figure out as well, had to get someone to clutch it whilst i listened. will try to get pic of what im talking bout because i dont think i done good job explaining it. Georgie
dont talk to me about squeeks and rattles lol im the worst for it as soon as i hear the slightest noise i get relli worried but I've got loadsa rattles in the car!! lol
chriswoodfto
lol. me too, im mr paranoid. i cannot put my my finger on whaat this noise is, its doing my head in, one minute it sounds like its coming from the back of the pedals, the next it sounds like its more the fornt right suspension. im guessing its the front right suspenion as when i had it lowered it was fine for a week, then the nosie started creeping in. then i went back to have the alignment checked, he said the backing plate on the brake pad was just catching on the disc making squeek noise. the squeek went away for a few days, now its abot 10days since i had the alignment re-checked and its started doing it again. unless theyve just not tightened summit up right, also had a anti lift kit on it, could it be that? Georgie
i wouldnt relli worry if it was me i know rattles n squeeks aint the best thing but as long as the car feels fine to drive and that i wouldnt bover wasting loads of time and money into looking what it might be lol
chriswoodfto
its abit mor ethan a rattle/squeek tho, it drives fine/handles fine tho. hoping itl just be summit loose or this brake pad thing.
