Im not a 100% sure but i think stock springs should be ok at 1.2bar however it will suffer higher through the rev range, you will get valve float so if you are takeing you car to its limits all the time then i would recommend that you did uprated the springs

I have got a set of uprated springs but fitting them is going to involve new shims and some machine work on the head and i havent even got a built bottom end to due to lack of funds. In two minds what to do..

not sure if the head your talking abpout is off the car but if it is you should just take the time and get it all done and machined then source a bottom end. if ya have the springs there already i would just put them in and it gives you the choice of upping the rev limit later without taking the head to bits again.

I never had an issue with taking standard springs to 7.5k on the Mines ECU i had.

I know of others running the same limit with no issues.

Please remember that Toyota would not put the rev limit on the max that the standard springs could take

Pop over to TGTT and have a read through some issues people are having with the uprated springs and cam combo...

Mickey_boy - Boost presure has nothing to do with it, its all down to revs.

head is off and block has just been rebored and honed and now getting notched. I am going to get some quotes as my headgasket is not cheap to take the head off at a later date.

Cheers guys
