Camshaft Seal

hello my names Yasser im new here and dont know much about Toyotas but ive been offered a Starlet GT Turbo by my mate but theres a big oil leak from the Camshaft seal, hes had a new head put on the engine and had it rebuilt as he blew it, they put a new seal in but its leaking and hes not sure whats causing this to happen anyone know what it could be? i think it maybe that the head would need skiming or something like that?

was the old camshaft used? genuine seal? installed properly? distributor put on correctly?

old camshaft was used, not sure about seal will speak to him and get a few pictures, he spent about £300 or so getting it rebuilt so i would have thought it would be done properly

Which side is it? Timing pulley side or distributor side?

It could just be the seal siting wrong as they can be a bit awkward

ye its probably the sealing probably didn't do it correctly

Camshaft end seals are a common problem on Honda's, not hard to fix.
