yaristurbo
hi guys I've got a yaris running a 4e-fte lump with a motec, 2.5" straight through pipe, bigger induction filter and a front mount intercooler and just been mapped with 22 degree charge air temp, i recently raced another starlet with a different exhaust manifold and a upgrade on the air induction and it beat me quite well, the engine came out of a ep82, im just woundering is there a difference in power output from the two models as this was a ep91? or is it just due to the age of the engine, or has anyone got any ideas on maybe checks i can do that might possibly lead to discovering the fault, or should i have started running lower heat rating spark plugs by now????cheers guys
chriswoodfto
prety sure the ep82 was quicker than a ep91. someone will tell you for definate but im not sure wether that was down to it being lighter etc or if it had more power.
WallaceGlanza
There's no power difference between the engines, both have 133bhp as standard. If the yaris is a good bit heavier it will obviously be slower? If you had it mapped was it not dyno'd, or was it just road mapped?
Dean @RW-Developments
ye it was because it was lighter the differences between the 2 was gt has thicker rods and the glanza has the ct9b turbo with 1 extra fin! you sure you havent got a boost leak? or he didnt have some cheeky mods
Russleh
yeh a yaris may be a small car but goin by todays cars id guess it still heavier than a gt
Bourkey
The Yaris, im guessing you mean the earlier models and not the very new shape, are around 400kg's heavier than the EP91 & EP82. Saftey and more accessories affect this massively with newer cars .Bourkey
garo
I agree, i think its the weight thats holding you back! Start stripping out the rear seats, spare wheel and stuff!
