picked up my ep82 today, brilliant news , really fast top mods etc boosts brillantly , driving home suddenly the throttle goes, no acceleration so i roll to a stop, have a look under car nothing is leaking etc, no smoke , rattles bangs nothing, try to start the car and now it wont start, cambelt is turnin, spark plugs sparking, just no fuel pump priming noise, can someone please tell me where the fuse for it is so i can check the fuse and also ,where or how to try and figure out to make sure i dont go spend 70 pound on a fuel pump when not needed, oh by the way only had this car a day and spent 3 hours in the cold stuck on a road nowhere near my home waiting to get towed :'(

take the fuel pump out to make sure its getting 12v but before that check to see it fuel is getting through to spark. easiest way is to take 1 of the plugs out get a friend to start the car while you look down the cylinder to see if fuel is gettin through

do a diagnostic test to see if you got any errors codes coming up by locating the diagnostic port next to the battery & bridging TE1 & E1, & read the ECU flashes (tutorial on this site) if theres no faults & your pretty sure its fuel pump you can check the fuse under the bonnet cant remember which is the fuel pump of the top of my head but if you remove the plastic cover for the fuse holder itll tell you on the reverse side what each fuse does, if the fuse is fine, bridge ports Fp & +B in same diagnostic port this will run the fuel pump constantly when ignition is on then try the fuel pump relay listening for it clicking, use multi meter to check voltage is good, you should be able to hear the pump noise constantly & if you have a fpr with gauge you should be showing fuel pressure. If that fails try removing rear seats & you'll see a plug check with your multimeter again to see you have power to the fuel pump if you think pump is buggered take it out of the tank & hook it directly to battery in a cup of fuel & see if it pumps or not obviously be careful with fuel near battery terminals lol.

very good reply but i had to take it to a garage to get it diagnosed 7 fault codes which they sorted , but they also did a compresio test which was a fail , so now i need a new fucking engine or it rebuilt, with no money etc ! so im screwed over big time ! it might be valves or pistons it might be both it might even just be a cambelt but until the head comes off there is no telling so hopefully the head will be off friday and then i can see the internal damage ! cant believe it went ! not like i was even giving it hell and razzing the rpm over time ! i was just crusing along and now this! no money no car, no nothing :'(

read what happened on tgtt, really fuked up :angry2: , im sure it if major you'll just need a top-end so will be easy to find and wont cost much, and you can do it yourself saves the money. if you go on tgtt there are alot of tutorials for this sort of thing. mite av 2 do a similar thing and change the head on my gt, but ohhh well

2 days of fun and a smile from ear to ear i got :angry2: my mate thinks its just the cambelt timing has shifted cause the cambelt is scored and has chunks out of it , ad when its aligment is wrong obviously it varies the valves so they might be constantly open hense no compression, so the head is coming off in the next couple of days hopefully there will be no damage and then i can just replace it with a blue cambelt and a clear cover !
