Recommended Posts

I would have thought you would win!? but someone will confirm im sure. Im guessing his will be alot heavier so will be less on power to weight ratio.

Let us know how you get on, im sure he will be surprised. B)

Had mine mapped today and it feels rediculously quick td04 @ 1 bar i have been used to 0.4 bar bare in mind.

Mine was 0.1 sec slower than my mates R33 Skyline turbo at pod aswell at 0.4 bar.

I'd say TD04 starlet all day.

You will KILL it mate my dads mate has a 200sx he is also running a t28, apexi power fc ecu, exhaust manifold, exhaust system ect and i destroy him on a rolling start to 120mph.I actually left him in a pool of smoke on wednesday night and stone chipped his bonnet to bits as i was wheel spinning past him in second gear and im only running a stock ct9 @1bar blitz ecu ect .Im not sure if it will be the same story for you though with the td04 been abit laggy you will need to keep the revs up alot more than what you would useing a ct9 set up.

Let us know how you get on mate

If its a T28'd S13 its a "Stage 2" like my old one. They pull, HARD. My old one held its own against a 330i Coupe (3lt Twin Turbo) BMW. They are 300hp with a fair whack of torque. Are you upgrading your internals? Are you getting the car set up on the Dyno? The only reason I ask is that 1Bar on a TD04 is alot of boost with "Half arsed" management. A RRPR and FCD will spell trouble. With that size of turbo your REALLY looking to get your self an AVCR or E-Manage. Also what injector's are you gonna run?

Without Proper management I would think the 200 might pip you to the post. But Seeing with Rory's EP82 can REALLY shows big cars how nippy a Starlet can be.

be interesting to see, yea i know its not the best way to do but i`v seen some people with the same setup as me and they have been running it for a fair bit, pukka performance are going to set it up for me, i wont be running it for ages on that setup till i gather money to get some sort of management.

what psi do you reacomend i run it at 1bar or just under to be safe?

I come from the dark ages of Starlets when TD04's were just becoming popular :)

I was always told stick to about 0.8Bar or less because at 1Bar the internals can't really take it (unless mapped very very very well) and they go "pop".

i`ve read people run it at a 1bar or 1.1 and have been for ages on standard internals with emb or emu, unless its luck of the draw?

To be honest it would be alot safer running a td04 @1bar than it would be a stock ct9 @1bar!!! with the ct9 been so small it generates alot of heat! compared to a td04 that has alot more A/R So yeah with the right set up running 1bar should be safe enuf

well as im using a rrfpr and fcd i think i`ll get it setup just below a bar to be on the safe side of things, the engine is pretty healthy none stop oil changes spark plugs fuel filter ect so hopfully all goes ok thanks for the advice lads
