hi all i have a set of 4 pot calipers that were originally on 280mm discs.

will 280mm discs fit under 15" rota slipstreams?

what car can i take 280mm discs from that will fit the starlet?

also what measurements are needed to get custom caliper brackets made up?

Thanks Marck

Toyota avensis's have solid 280mm discs on them.

Head over to here: Clicky, and get the discs for a 2002- Corolla Diesel - these are the discs that are being sold with Sanchez's Levin Caliper conversion I sold him, and the discs were about £85 delivered, new!

280mm discs will fit without issue, and so will the calipers if they're not too high in profile

You can always have the grooves machined in separately (Hi-Spec charged me £50 I believe?) - as for the discs, I cannot remember which, but you can check the specifications, and it will be 280mm x 21mm with a 4x100 PCD

I guess those are the ones then, the D1280 part number rings a bell - you have to check what the Peugeot calipers used too in terms of disc thickness, if they worked with a thicker disc they won't fit, if they worked with a thinner you may risk having the pads fall out.

also read up to put shims between the pad and the caliper if the discs arent thick enough do you think this is safe??

My lexus has shims all round as standard so im going to say, yes it is safe!!!

What you need is a brake disc geek, and luckily you guys have ME! :)

The 277x25 discs from the WMS kit are one option, but as you say that are the wrong width.

However if you are happy to run a 3mm (maybe you can get away with less) spacer between the disc and hub like the twin-pot setups people use have, and have a 55mm bore hub, I can supply:

275x28 discs

295x26 discs (but 15's will be either VERY tight, or won't fit...)

Bung me a PM if this'll help! Even if you have 54mm bore hubs I have a way round that... :)
