SR17
***Please all members read to help make my new website a success.*** www.car17.co.uk I will try and keep this as brief as possible! When learning to drive I could not find a dedicated website for learner/young drivers. Information is available on different sites, but many are poorly written, look hectic and don't have a good feel. My idea is to create a site where all information regarding learning to drive, passing the theory/practical tests, general car information, safety can all be found in one place.I wanted to make the site as young and fresh as possible, where things were explained in basic ways and not boring to read. I also had the vision of building up a very healthy online community such as this one. Over the past 2 years (from the age of 17) I have researched and written all content on the site. Aswell as this I have created an online forum where members can sign up and discuss all matters covered on the site. Now being at university and having the summer off , I want to try and push the site forward as much as I can.I have been on this forum a few years and feel the people on here could make a real difference, I am asking UKSC members to help me spread the word a bit more by sign up to the forum and try and get things moving a little. Any thread ideas please put forward and have a look around and any feedback would be much appreciated. I'm sure people who have been on this site for a long time can appreciate how quickly the community can grow once the ball has started rolling. Many Thanks for reading and hope to hear from people soon. Adamwww.car17.co.uk http://www.facebook.com/#!/group.php?g...1203&ref=ts
ryan lang
thats a really good idea dude, have you thought about handing the site address out to driving instrustors and things like that?im sure i could send it to my old driving instructor to pass the word onto learners
SR17
Thank you Ryan. I have lists of driving instructors locally, but would be nice to try and get contacts on a national level. The hardest thing is getting people aware of the site, so if people have contacts, friends/ family learning to drive passing the word on would be much appreciated
ryan lang
im sure some of the learners drivers on here at the moment would pass this on to their driving instructors anlso, such as ryan5793 and series70boy, these 2 are just about to start learning so drop them a pm and ask them to pass on the site to instructors

nutnut
Website looks good mate. You might like to add in the buying a used car sectionGet an HPI check on used cars. Not nice for a new driver to get stung with a stolen (ringer) car.The check will also reveall if any finance is outstanding on the car or known to the police.Just a bit of advice , a mate got cought out by not getting a HPI check. The RAC can sort them for £10 each or 3 checks for £

nutnut
Keep your eyes peeled to the tv for the HPI text number as mentioned by Ryan. You need to add that too & dont forget to add the cost for the text message.Think its £3 x 3 messages but double check to be sure. As you can see in the "review" sections I have started the ball rolling with a starlet, saxo, punto, fiesta, but want to include a few more. ThanksAdam
