Amjad
Just wanted some feedback from people who've had experiences with these bits of kit, what do you think of them? Would you recommend them?Front lower arm barRear lower arm barRear lower arm bar 2^Are those Rear one's the same part? My current handling mods;- -40mm springs on stock N/A shocks- GT Turbo front strut brace- Cusco Rear strut brace- Whiteline Anti-Lift Castor kit- Whiteline Rear Anti-Roll Bar- Toyo T1rs (195/50/15)Would lower arm bars make a significant difference to my setup? Any downsides at all? The only think I can think of, is scraping over the square speedbumps, which as my car is a daily, is a regular occurence! I wouldn't want some crazy harsh ride, but I assume these would just stiffen up chassis flex nicely? After I got the above parts it made the car stiff, but NICE stiff if you know what I mean? Enjoyable & confidence inspiring, not uncomfortable.. I was thinking of getting both front and rear bars as they are relatively cheap! (£160 all in for both) Do they come with any fitting required (bolts etc) or do they mount to factory points?ThanksAmjad
raffa_mk
i have got the front lower arm bar installed but will be taking it off to sell as the roads in sheffield are sh*te! keep catching it on these big bumps, not on the square bumps though, but i have my car on standard shocks and springs. steering is more direct and more comfortable ride especially on pot holes and when you have a passenger in the car. i currently have front strut installed on the car with 195/50/15 wheels on so i dont know if you will notice the difference on your setup with your mods.the only reason i got this is for when i drive on country roads and snakespath. Its a cusco lower arm bar sprayed in yellow from previous owner, i will be selling this along with my other parts this week when i take the photo's.Easy fit, just bolt it on using excisting parts on car.hope this helps. Nanglebadger
had mine fitted about 2 weeks ago. as u know, my car already had alot of handling parts, so this had a hard time standing out in an already rigid car. but i have noticed an improvement, more direct steering, at first i thought a bit of oversteer but i think that was me unused to it.I've only caught it once but thankfully I've raised my car recentley, but i do drive with it in mind as i know its but centimetres off the tarmac!Phil. Is it the big angled bumps your catching it on then? Woah you're getting a better ride over potholes? I think I would probably see a difference because I'm still on stock shocks rather than coilies etc, it's just that I don't want it to be a nuisance if I do decide to get one had mine fitted about 2 weeks ago. as u know, my car already had alot of handling parts, so this had a hard time standing out in an already rigid car. but i have noticed an improvement, more direct steering, at first i thought a bit of oversteer but i think that was me unused to it.I've only caught it once but thankfully I've raised my car recentley, but i do drive with it in mind as i know its but centimetres off the tarmac!Phil.I wouldn't mind oversteer, it's understeer I hate! How much is your car lowered? The only part of my car that used to catch was the old middle section of the exhaust, but since I got the straight through section I don't think is does at all nowAnyone else got any thoughts on the matter? raffa_mk
took the lower arm bar off today and prefer it that way, went to check the damage on it and the bar has kinked at the point where the previous owner grinded the bar for the exhust pipe to clear it. Its not the square bumps that it catches on, its those big humps. If you get one you just have to take it very slow on the bumpsI wouldn't bother getting another one unles i have very good height clearence.Next to fit on my car is rear strut bar, front and rear sway bar and panhard rod. Amjad
Doesn't look like it's a smart move then with the state of the roads down here too I can vouch for those other parts though! Rear strut brace, Rear ARB combo works brilliantly! Are you looking to get an aftermarket Front ARB? Let me know if that, and the panhard rod make any difference to the handling
raffa_mk
all the parts apart from the rear strut bar are whiteline parts. just need time to fit themDoesn't look like it's a smart move then with the state of the roads down here too I can vouch for those other parts though!
