The Toffinator
had a look around and i can only find individual shocks and not kits, is there any kits people recommend? looking cheapest about really. Thanks
Amjad
Aren't any kits as far as I'm aware dudeYou can look at getting KYB Gas shocks from Camskill. These come standard on the GT/Glanza. I've driven a Stock GT and they feel firm, yet damp quite well for stock shocksI have Standard Oil shocks with -40mm PI Springs and the ride is pretty harsh on all but the smoothest of roads! The only other option is to go for Coilovers; of which Meister's are supposed to be the best/most comfortable!
The Toffinator
So you bought the new shocks and fitted springs? im guessing springs on standard god nick shocks arent good? and harsness doesnt bother me at all
Asad
Im hating the stock set-up sooo bad atm just clocked over 90k having been on some random road trips and its shocking to say the least....the car literally bounces over bumps, doesnt hold any corners (totally wrong for my style of driving) sends every bump into the car Really need to sort it out asap....tempted to go for coilovers or konisi personally wouldnt throw lowering springs on normal shocks but thats what most people do...springs avaliable for the EP areteinpiapexespelirTRDRSReibach (TTE springs)
The Toffinator
I know they aint great at all for anything faster than 30mph! way too soft, but the hing is i dont have the money right now for colies, but the dampers are fairly recent and in good nick? Thanks
Asad
Id save up....seriously at some point (although this point varies) they will burst requiring you to get new shocks
The Toffinator
Fine fine fine.... i think it will look shite with new wheels and the standard height!Ahhh!
ste91
I had uprated shocks & springs on my Starlet, paid £300 and it made a massive improvement. KYB New SR Specials with (as I was told) TRD springs:These are now for sale if you're interested, £220+delivery, I've only had a few months use out of them since buying them last year. They aren't the best looking as you can see theres' a fair bit of surface rust and they're obviously not clean as they've been used but they work fine. They lower by about 40mm and give the car a nice stance.
The Toffinator
Dont mind how they look dude as long as they work well! are they a pretty stiff set up? and at the moment mate i could buy them just waiting out on picking my test date for the next few weeks, and wanna make sure i have enough money for lessons etc! Will get in touch in a while if you still have them! Thanks
