What Running In Oil?

What engine oil would you recommend to run in a forged engine?

10w40 semi, then throw in some 5w40 fully synthetic after the run-in period

I've been advised, and found via some Google searches that Mineral oil is the best to use?

i'd say 5-30 or something lite for the running in process. at work are computer lists 10-40 s/synthetic for stock 4efte. we only sell mineral oil if the customer is flushing the engine out or if its a diesal.

Best ask some of the traders i guess.....what have you got in it now? as soon as you turn the key within the first 20min the process of bedding in has started

Yeah it has, I just can't drive it because it has no windows and isn't insured. Let it idle a few times but not going to do that again until I can drive it.

I put 15w40 mineral oil.

best to get a confimation, change the oil and then start her up when everythings ready....

then on the 1000miles use 10w40 semi/fully

Is the oil dependant on the running in style? I plan to give mine death (well not quite) by doing the harsh run in. I assume i will have to use a different grade?
