how the hell do you upload music from your laptop to your iphone with itunes??

with my ipod all i did is click sync to ipod and unclicked the songs i did not want to go on my ipod in the music menu .....

another thing is making a certian song your ring tone??

If its jail broken then you can get it from Cydia, i think in Cydia you can even get a converter for it and it allows you to set custom ringtones, however if you have just bought it, and it was brand new i don't think it is jail broken in which case you need to Download ringtones from App Store. I'm not sure how you set them as ringtones though as i only have an ipod which i jail broke my self. Firmware version 4.1 (i think)

As said either jailbreak it and can have whatever ringtone you want pretty much.

Or do as Dan says and convert it, takes a minute or so, can have about a 40 second ringtone, thats what i have do

Download an app called ringtone designer, you extract a 30 second clip from any of your songs then it gives you instructions on how to set it as your ringtone. Great app IMO

There is a great website which I use for ringtones, you can find almost anything you want and save/download in the correct .m4r format for iTunes. Its a little bit more awkward but to be honest regular MP3's set as ringtones always sound crap anyway, they always need cropping to the best bit so really its not a big deal.
