Driver
My car keeps throwing engine light on and has done for a while but as it was running a piggyback i didnt worry about itanyway its back stock and still throws it up every time i go outdid a diagnostics check and throw signal codes 25 and 5225 is what is described as the "lean signal" so between 1200-6000rpm its running lean but lambda isnt plugged in so im hoping as soon as i plug that in that will solve that one52 is knock sensor - is this just replacing the knock sensor itself or can it ba anything else ? Trying to get the car in a sellable condition so solving all the little niggles that i just ignored lol, and this is one of the last things to rectifyCheers
lukEp
well your going to cause all sorts of problems with lambda unpluged if you are running lean and getting detonation your knock sensor is picking it up but can't do anything because it dont know what the lambda is doingdetonation is a hugh no no mate dont drive it untill sorted or bye bye engine BOOOOM!!! Driver
Been without a lambda for best part of 18-20 month its not really needed, doesnt make alot of differance, however the plugs gone missing of my car :/ was there before it was td04d however i genuinly cant find it any more ?? very confusedKnock sensor is hopefully just faulty or become loose, ill investigate further later on but it cold lolbeen like this for a while but never worried about it due to fact it wasnt broke and we had external AFR guage and knock sensor and all readings are fine
Sparky
So you did away with the stock lambda and replaced it with the AFR probe?
Asad
i think the knock sensor has a special type of wire/sleeving it might have been damaged have a look see
lukEp
Erm not needed?!?!?! Are you running management or a carb. If you don't have a lambda on a electrionic controlled engine your ecu can't adjust fuel to compensate for any discrepencys. Do you have an exhaust temp sensor to see if your temperature is not over 850degrees on full beans.
Driver
Sparky - yup adjusted fueling with emanage and took away lambda etc and run without oneAsad - i heard that aswell from a GT owner so im going to look at that.Luke - the ecu has a map set on it and runs mainly from the map sensor, it will only make very minor adjustments from the narrowband lambda sensor so is fine without just normally runs a tad rich when on stock managment.
