scutch0
yes the paseo 5efe engine is a straight swap, most wiring should be the same, you will need the 5efe ecu however. all the other engines i wouldnt bother with unless you intend throwing money at it.5efe is just a longer stroke version of the 4efe (starlet engine)
Guest Enzo
the gen 1 4AGE blue top out of the mr2/corolla gti will fit but will present loads of issues with wiring and the welding of an extra mountthe 5efe is totaly plug and play and the easyest swap out thereif whoever is fitting the engineis at the top of their game and knows thier shit then go for it, theres a silver top 4age with individual throttle bodys lying uphere in a breakers yard, if you want, that would be different and revs to 8500rpm
Sparky
That motor in the breakers sounds awesome!!!

4EFTE
Straight Sawps (no overly serious custom work needed):5EFE (Paseo etc.)5EFHE (Sera etc.)4EFTE (Starlet GT/Glanza)5EFTE (this is not an off the self engine but a hybrid between a 5EFE/5EFHE and a 4EFTE)Other swaps that I have heard done successfully but require more work:3SGTE (MR2 mk.2, Celica GT4)4AGE (MR2 mk.1, Various Corollas)anything other than these is AFAIK unchartered territory - be different! get the hacksaw and copydex out and see if a 2JZGTE will fit! scutch0
i wouldnt try the 5efhe if you want a bolt in, plug in and go engine. it needs just as much rewiring as the 4efte does. trust me i tried it!
