Hey guys I will move this to the correct section when its answered.

We are changing the CV boot on the sisters Starlet but can get the CV joint off the shaft.

How does it come off? Cant see a circlip or anything?

Thanks Lewis

Keep hitting it with a big hammer it will pop off the spilne/circlip eventualy just make sure someone elss holds the shaft near the gearbox so it dosnt pop out and have oil everywhere!!!

LOL if you hit it then spine the shaft then hit it again in that sort of motion it will come of the splines equally instead of just hitting it in the same place if you get me lol

hold the joint straight with the shaft and just swing with everything you have lol the ones on my GT took a right beating before they gave in lol

Hey buddy, its pretty simple really.

Depends if you want to take the shaft out or not, if you do remember to catch the gearbox oil that will come out of the box!

Two people would be handy to do this, one holding the shaft while someone taps the CV joint off the shaft.

We used a blunt chisel and lump hammer, just whack the CV joint, turn it slightly give it another whack and keep doing that so it comes off evenly and doesnt damage the splines.

Then you will need to clamp the c clip back onto the shaft when refitting the CV. This is really fiddly and we used a water pump pliers and screw driver to get the C clip small enough to whack the CV back over it.

Good luck :D
