can anyone shed some light?

o ok...

whats the point of having one.

is it for the noise or does it increase power/driveability?

Well it's all got to do with keeping the turbulent gas (Coming out of the wastegate) out of the exhaust flow and away from the turbine wheel.

My mate made his own on his GT4, it might look a bit rough in this photo, but it sonds awesome

They're made by fat al, or fat joe or something... He got them from america. I'll ask him when I see him, you can get chrome or black anodised ends aswell.

Yeah, Paul's put a lot of work into his car, we usually sit outside his garage at the weekends and just tinker with the cars, he's always got bit's off modifying them. (It's in septembers issue of Banzai if you wanna read the short version of the tech spec)

This is Paul on the Dyno, the sound quality isn't the best but if you listen you can hear a change in the sound of the engine, a high pitched whistling air noise, that'll be the screamer pipe.

Purpose as quoted from EP's website is keep a longer lifespan of your turbo cause your venting hot air out of there quicker, and you get better spool results.
