Starbuck
My car has been laid up for the past week whilst a fitted a new mani, decat, turbo.Started her the first time in a week today. My first q. How much white smoke should I expect from the exhaust after 1 week. On idle and with foot down but static before running ok? I know therell be some condensation build up........Second q. I,m getting some smoke from the mani area. Is it a case of not tightened enough and its fumes or possibly crap being burnt off the mani etc
Stulet-GTT
If its been sat for while an got new stuff on it, it could do with a little run around to blow the shite out, not jus starting it on ya drive take it for proper blast..Yer my mani smoked for a bit when new but cleared soon enough... Starbuck
Ok. I'll keep an eye on it. Will be going to work in it tomorrow, so I'll check it after the run. I don't want to have to be resealing gaskets if I have too.
Lukew360
My manifold was a bit smelly for about a day, after that it was fine.Depends how much oil is on the mani ect I suppose, I never had much on mine.
Starbuck
Got it started again today. No smoke on idle from exhaust or mani area or from what i can tell when driving. So fingers crossed. However 1 other question. I have emanage installed at the moment on another cars MAP, i'm driving off full boost at the moment (The original car was mapped to almost the same spec as mine bar the boost). Anyway i decided i was going to open her up a bit and the EBC read just over 1bar and then the car stalled like fuel cut had hit and popped. The FMIC decided to losen itself. Would this have caused the stall and hesitation???The other thing is my tial wastegate has a 0.7spring and the EBC was off, so if the EBC readout hit over 1bar thats 'Boost Creep' isn't it? Would the lose FMIC hose have been the cause of this??Cheers
Idrees
The Emanage MUST be remapped! It doesn't matter if the other car was identical to yours in terms on mods or mileage, every car is different so make sure you get it mapped please! And don't run hi boost until you have done so!
