Help, Fitting a aftermarket rev counter to a sportif

Hi

Has anyone done this before? I have an aftermarket rev counter to fit to my 97 starlet sportif. Does anyone know how to do this?

If you can source dials from a CD spec starlet they have a rev counter built in and plug straight in with no wire swapping,

Or for wiring in a gauge you will need an ignition live, earth I think possibly 2 feeds to pick up the revs and a live to light the gauge up at night if it's that type

Iirc it's the black wire for rev signal!

Where do i find this black wire? is it the one coming from the distriputer?
