Has anyone else had idling problems after fitting their corolla manifold?

Since fitting it my engine has been idling rather high and my fuel consumption has gone rubbish.

Anyone else experienced this and if so, how do you resolve this?

Is there an idle control valve on the mani for the N/A? Easy to adjust on the GT's so if theres one on the N/A i should be easy too.

Must be the accelerator cable then mate.

The Corolla inlet doesn't have little holder for the accelerator cable like the standard 4EFE one has, so the people that fitted the inlet must have modified it to hold the cable? Sounds like they've put it in the wrong place or something..

Right, getting a bit fed up of stuff not going right though

The GT seats had to be forced in despite being 'a straight swap' and then the mani has gone in and caused problems ;)

(once again supposedly being something that is easy and problem free)

My local mechanic, he reckons it's because there's a small gap between the throttle body and corolla manifold, as apparently the flange of each doesnt line up correctly, whatever that means....

Maybe he just didn't adjust the idle control valve after fitting the mani?

Will ask mechanically minded people at the meet tomorrow, see what they say.
