NightSpirit
I've asked around and thought I'd get the opinion of the EP community on what car I should get as a daily driver? My rules/requirements are pretty simple:Must be a saloon (seat 4-5) NO hatchbacks.Must be fun to drive and speedy if possible.Preferrably not that expensive to run and fair mpg.Preferrably RWD and non turbo.Must have lots of gadgets and plush interiorMust be reliable.Doesn't have to be Jap either. My current favourite choice is an E36 M3...any others? I'm still also thinking Omega Elite, Lexus GS300...that sort of thing.
Mikey Jay
Mitsubishi Galant?
NightSpirit
Not bad, but nowhere near luxury enough...I want leather and toys galore
Fogdoggydog
Was gonna suggest a skyline, but after a quick search it seems there aren't very many non-turbos in the country. I suppose anyone who has has wanted a skyline imported has wanted the turbo version.
NightSpirit
I've thought about importing a 'liner but they're too expensive to run and insure...and too heavy lol. Also thought of an Evo 4 but the interiors are just plastic city and the gadgets are woeful.I have the EP for trackdays, the wife has the Glanza for popping about in...I've sold the MR2 and will soon sell the 306xtdt...so I need something ultra lux for my daily commute.I'm finding it very hard to come up with anything that trumps an E36 M3 with the full vader leather seats, around 30mpg on a run and I've been quoted £500 fully comp to insure it. paul w
Was gonna suggest the saab 9-5 too, heavy but capable and lovely inside!or an R33 2.5 non turbo, still 240 bhp wont rip your socks off but its still a nice daily drive,A-Plan would do you a good deal as they specialise in stuff like skylines.http://atsearch.autotrader.co.uk/www/CARS_...200711104262605http://atsearch.autotrader.co.uk/www/CARS_...200711104298032http://atsearch.autotrader.co.uk/www/CARS_...200706270519833
NightSpirit
Cheers chaps..and Enzo ;)The 'liner is too basic inside for me, I want to drive around in a stately home.I'll go test drive a few soon, shame there isn't a local garage with more than one in I can check out. Will add the quattro to the list
Idrees
Lexus IS200 But they're not quick, otherwise very nice! What about a supercharged TTE compressor? Anybody know how much they are?
Sparky
I would go for a nice Audi aswell, german build qualityOther than that the beemer sounds liek what you want
Fogdoggydog
Out of the ones Enzo mentioned, I'd pick the Saab, just cause they are different, and the interior is like sitting in a fighter jet or something. But if i were sensible and wanted something better to drive I'd go for the A6 quattro. miracle411
Its got to be a Lexus, most of those i love, they are really VIP style so obviously have good luxuries, maybe fuel economy is out the window on some models though.
Si@Fiske
Not bad, but nowhere near luxury enough...I want leather and toys galore Nothing wrong with a Galant, not luxury enough?? and your thinking of a vauxhall.. ... .. .. ... .. .i say get an older evo.
NightSpirit
I think the M3 is going to have to be bought I love the Evo, awesome car, but a 3 is what I'd get for 5k ish and interior and spec wise....well...er....no. lolNow strip one out and put it on a track, now you're talking ;)
