Trinda1664 Posted October 13, 2011 Share Posted October 13, 2011 hi guys, i have a problem with blue smoke (heavy) i thought it was my turbo but its boosts perfectly, it happens when i ease off the accelerator and accelerate again and it chucks out buckets full of blue smoke, it doesnt over heat and is loosing lots of oil, but there is no oil leek anywhere, any advice would be appreciated, thank you Quote Link to post Share on other sites

Basically the engine is sucking against the throttle plate, if your valve stem seals(valve guides) are worn then it can suck oil from the head through the stem seals. Then when you go back on the throttle, that oil is all going to be burnt off when accelerating.Take off your inter cooler piping and see if there is any oil lurking in there, give you an idea if is drawing in oil before or after the throttle.hope this helps Quote Link to post Share on other sites
keirz Posted October 13, 2011 Share Posted October 13, 2011 there will always be a little oil in the intercooler pipe work. If your turbo seals are worn then it dont usually loose much oil really. Good chance it could be what is mentioned abovehi there, no the turbo is not noisy atall, boosts fine, i originally thought it was the turbo so i was going to go hybrid, it never overheats and fan cuts in fine, really strange and confused, cheers for your advice, appreciated Quote Link to post Share on other sites
