N80Jamie
Right i cba with the noise that comes when having a stripped out rear so i'm planning on making a 'rear build'. First of all i want to make the rear flat and for this i was thinking a thin sheet of mdf? then i wanted to carpet over this and possibly add some sound proofing underneath. With this in place i still get the stripped out look but keep it perfect for a daily driver. Has anyone built anything like this before? Where can i get everything i need from?Cheers guys

N80Jamie
What is this dynomat you speak of?!
adz_sportif_turbo
Dynomat is the bollocks!! What I'm gonna do to the back of mine
Starlet__SR
Its like a soundproofing material that people used to use in big ICE installations. Basically its an acoustic insulator lol.DynamatD
N80Jamie
That stuff looks promising. I'll need to measure the space in the rear and see how much this is going to cost! Cheers dude
Starlet__SR
Its not cheap but it works. Good enough to keep 150+db inside a car so i'm positive it'll kill the road noise lolD
Simon
Guy that had mine before me was into his ice so mine has been done not got it stripped out but it makes my buddy club spec to a bit more bareable on a long drive lol
N80Jamie
Haha that will be fine for me then. Hopefully i don't need too much as it really is quite pricey
raffa_mk
There is other materials that have same properties and cheaper brands of dynamat, if you go to your local car audio dealer u can buy it from them and fit your self, it is time consuming, make sure you clean the metal and heat it when applying, ideally want to be doing this in warm weather. Helped my mate do this to his BMW compact in winter and it took forever doing the back end off his car.
LukeH
Are you doing this with a sub and are you still using the interior plastics?i have built 2, one 6mm and one 12mm, depending on what you want from it depends on the design and material, tools to use. There is a how too thread to a rear built some where.Check this out, gives an idea.http://www.ukstarletclub.com/forums/index....c=21593&hl=
