scoobykilla Posted December 21, 2011 Share Posted December 21, 2011 Hi all my upgraded exhaust mani has a slight crack on it, i am going to take it off and weld it for the moment, i am a noobie mechanic. When putting new gaskets on i.e Mani gasket and turbo to mani gasket do i put them on dry or do i use gasket sealant ??Any help would be great Quote Link to post Share on other sites
micky boy Posted December 21, 2011 Share Posted December 21, 2011 Put them on dry mate gasket sealant wouldnt last 2min on a turbo set up the gaskets are designed to crush ;) thats if they are toyota gaskets not the shitty ebay ones ect Quote Link to post Share on other sites
Socks Posted December 21, 2011 Share Posted December 21, 2011 Dry mate for sure...Just make sure you wire brush/wire wool the surfaces to get a clean face. and the head/manifold gaskets go on 1 way, withthe dimples facing out into the head ;) Quote Link to post Share on other sites
