GT smoking ?

Recommended Posts

Hi guys

Recently got the GT a new turbo, KKK K26 With external waste gate. i think boost is below 1 bar.

Under high revs IE 4.000RPM the car starts to smoke... not alot but enough to see..

Now its just had a new HG changed... gone to metal 1.4mm and the Head was skimmed.

Engine was rebuilt.

Head, valve seals etc

Block... hones, rings, pistons

Around 5.000 MILES on rebuld.

What you rekon guys?

Just keep an eye on the smoke and check oil/ water levels frequently to see if they're dropping. Usually worn turbo oil seals will chuck out a load of smoke when your idling after a drive. That's what happened with my old hybrid ct9 anyway!

Might sound silly but are you sure its not just the cold weather + rain? I know due to my exhaust being angled up, every time it rains i get a pool of water in the backbox which creates white smoke for a good 10 minutes then clears up. Suppose that doesn't answer why your only getting smoke on high revs though.. Just keep an eye on your coolent levels mate.
