battery problem

my battery has blown i think when im driving at night and switch the lights on the car seems to die or even cut out is this the battery or could it be something elseie alternator?

could be the alternator is on it's way out but have you checked the battery terminals are tight?

all sorted now bought a new battery and it fired up first time
