The new quaddie...

Recommended Posts

Well, here she is, picked her up last weekend as a non runner. Total travelling time of 13hrs to get there and back! Pulled it on A frame which was suprisingly easy!

Was bought as a non runner due to a cracked head, so the first thing I did when i got her back to the garage was start to take her apart!

As you can see it has a brand new wepr manifold and a speedvision hybrid.

Im picking up a new head for it this afternoon, and gonna figure out what to do with all that cabling around the back of the engine and hopefully give it a good degreasing as the rocker cover seal has never been replaced and has pissed oil out everywhere!

Found the oil feed bolt on the turbo has been stripped so spent a few hours this morning drilling it out and bolting through it etc. So hopefully thats that one fixed too!

Hopefully this weekend she should be on the road :)

Well an update from saturday,

Fixed most of the issues and managed to give it a quick test run-

IMG-20120217-00209.jpg

Fixed the turbo oil feed that had been stripped, had to drill it out and bolt straight through as there wasnt enough metal left to re-tap it.

Replaced the rocker cover gasket as it has pissed oil out everywhere! I cant understand why lol!

Head surfaces prepped and cleaned ready for repair

And all finished!

When i had the car running it was revving to 1500rpm with the idle screw turned all the way in and was billowing out smoke, I stripped it all back down again checked the turbo etc, then the PCV valve came off in my hand, so that was the issue! So going to block it up temporary and drive it to check the engine turbo etc!
