choppa7 Posted May 15, 2007 Posted May 15, 2007 Has anyone had to change a clutch on a Glanza V before? If so how difficult/involved is it?Are there any guides which could help?Is there a Haynes for the Starlet which could help?Cheers for any info! Quote
SiCaln Posted May 15, 2007 Posted May 15, 2007 there is no haynes for a v, but there is one for a corolla with 4efe which should be the same Quote
shelly_star Posted May 15, 2007 Posted May 15, 2007 think the clutch is a pretty big job, r u a machanic? Took my mate about 6-9 hours on the type r civic and he's a machanic, well thats changing gearbox as well. Quote
choppa7 Posted May 15, 2007 Author Posted May 15, 2007 I've done a clutch on an old BMW quite recently but I'm no mechanic - Took me 3 days I didnt think there'd be ahaynes for the glanza but something to give me a guideline should do the job Quote
shelly_star Posted May 15, 2007 Posted May 15, 2007 where abouts are you from? Geez 3 days is good effort, my other friend changed his clutch with another mate on his glanza, took them a day and a half. Quote
choppa7 Posted May 15, 2007 Author Posted May 15, 2007 I'm from the sunny north...Newcastle As far as I can gather it shouldnt be as much work as the BM as its FWD but there wont be as much space.I'll see if I can get hold of a corolla manualCheers Quote
ecksjay Posted May 15, 2007 Posted May 15, 2007 took my mechanic about 2-3 hours, but obv they had a ramp etc and a spare pair of hands. Quote
Glanza_Ragger Posted May 15, 2007 Posted May 15, 2007 Your going to want ramps to pull the car on, Also a second set of hands unless your built like arnie. The boxes are quite heavy for such a small car.Give yourself a good day to change a clutch, assuming you have an idea what to do.Also purchase a clutch alignment tool, makes the job a hell of a lot easier.
