ashley1 Posted April 28, 2012 Posted April 28, 2012 I've recently purchased a td05 and been told alot about the late boost they have does anyone no whether it is better to get the td04 please help Quote
Socks Posted April 28, 2012 Posted April 28, 2012 on a stock engine, td05 is pointless... As 220-230bhp is the limit for the stock engine... A td04 will do that and spool alot better.... So pointless! On a forged engine TD04's max about 270-280bhp... TD05's max just around the 300bhp mark...Its a sacrifice really 20-30bhp for faster spool... Quote
ashley1 Posted April 28, 2012 Author Posted April 28, 2012 im waiting to go up tuning development for a new ecu setup but i have the internal wastegate with hks actuator Quote
ashley1 Posted April 28, 2012 Author Posted April 28, 2012 im wanting to eventually reach 300+ is garret the way for this Quote
Socks Posted April 28, 2012 Posted April 28, 2012 Race-Tech's turbo kits are very good mate...There 350bhp kit spools faster then a td04 yet produces more power then a td05....they use custom built garret blowers http://www.race-tech...index&cPath=2_5 Quote
ashley1 Posted April 28, 2012 Author Posted April 28, 2012 i love them but it will take me a long time to save up for that what do you recomend for now Quote
Socks Posted April 28, 2012 Posted April 28, 2012 If your on a stock engine, grab a td04...There cheap, easily to get hold of...It will spool and drive much better on the road on the stock motor! You'll not be waiting for power all the time in the rev band!Have a Ganders here.... www.s314kba.co.uk/leaderboard Quote
shorty Posted April 28, 2012 Posted April 28, 2012 (edited) Id like to add it depends what td05 you have as to what it will max at. there are at least 3 i can think of straight away capable of more than 300. Also the mitsi td05's (use a different flange to scoobys) spool quicker as they use smaller wheels. go buy a WEPR turbo kit for a lot less and a second hand turbo and your well away!! Pm sacha (wickedep on here and tgtt) he will be able to sort you out mate and his turbo kits are fualtless ;) Edited April 28, 2012 by shorty Quote
