GlanzaKidB77
Cars at tuning developments as we speak, hopefully going forged but need to make my mind up turbo wise?Any feedback for the GT28?Will i need any other components if i was to run a GT28 to a TD04?How reliable too?ThanksMatt
Whitegv
Just a different manifold and downpipe as the flanges are different.
mattyD
you say hopefully going forged..................are you?because this will determine what turbo you should get, a gt28 would be wasted on a non-forged engine where as a tdo4 would be much better but if you are definitely going forged then gt28 all the way its a much better turbo dude and as said will need a different manifold & downpipe in order to run it
ryan lang
t25 spool quicker than a gt28, and larger than td04
Flaminsam
That's what I want to run after my td04. Always liked Garrett turbo's.
mattyD
t25 spool quicker than a gt28, and larger than td04 even though its bigger, i have heard that the t25 turbo's cant handle as high a boost level as td04's and wouldnt be much of an upgrade if anything at all dont hold me to that though, i havent tested it ;)
GlanzaKidB77
Basically am going forged just a need to think what turbo setup i want while there stripping it. Anyone know anyone on here that has a GT28 setup?
mattyD
have a look on the power leaderboard mate, there are a couple of people running them on there- http://www.s314kba.co.uk/leaderboard/
Ryan-11
what size gt28 are u looking at? also ball bearing or journal bearing?
AdamB
If its going on a 4e I would stick with the smallest trim which is the 2860. Will get good spool and a massive surge of power. They are good for about 340-360bhp.
jakeep82
Think you hit full boost at about 4900 on the gt28 dont quote me on it but this is a unanswered question in the back of my head to do and was emailing a lad on here the other day who has a gt28 starlet ! AdamB
It depends what "full boost" is. You will make 0.8 bar quicker than 1.9 bar.I'm going to be running the newer version the GTX series turbo on a 5e and hoping for 1.6 bar around 4000rpm.
